Greetings from Washington!

Hello! Here I sit, on Anderson Island, in the green state of Washington. If you have a Google Earth, look it up. It's shaped like a devil's head! Oooooooooh! Anyway, I survived 2 weeks of 2 VERY different girls camps. I am sleeping A LOT to make up for lost sleep, but hey, it was fun. Let's see, we watched a movie on a big screen in my cousins backyard. It was the real life Peter Pan. That was cute. I saw "Inception" with my Dad, Uncle Matt, Cousin Brady, and his cousin Jake. It was REALLY good. I don't know how anyone could have possibly thought up such a good plotline! I've learned to play pickle-ball, a sport where, apparently, only Utah doesn't know about. Shame. It's like Ping-Pong, on a bigger scale where YOU are the paddles! I had a dream I was friends with Justin Beiber (THAT was creepy). We tried out our grandpa's big zip-line here on the island, and am now currently reading a book that I randomly found here. It's called Stormbreaker. I'm not sure what I think of it so far. Well, that's about it. See you later!

I Hope They Call Him on a Mission

Yes, I know, I don't usually post about David Archuleta. I usually leave that for my mom or Beth. Oh well, you'll all love what I have to say anyway! This is an statement from "Fans of David" .com.

Mission in David’s Future?

David has said many times that he feels like he is on his mission now, by sharing his music and learning about the effect it has had on people’s lives.
According to Benoni Sowah of the BYU Scroll, however, David apparently may much more intentional about embarking on an official LDS mission when his contracts with American Idol/19 Entertainment expire:
“Archuleta sat down with Scroll for an interview. During the interview he explained certain misconceptions about questions people have asked about serving a full-time mission.
He said he is currently unable to serve a mission due to “American Idol” contracts he entered into, which will not allow him to leave for a mission. Archuleta said he hopes to serve a mission after his contract expires.
“The Lord knows my intentions and there is a reason behind everything,” Archuleta said.
David said he tries to touch people’s lives through his music and actions, just like a missionary would do.”

Unsigned Artist Christina Perri Lands Demo on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance
Featured Song “Jar of Hearts” Leaps Into iTunes Top 20 Overall Chart, Top 15 Pop Chart and Amazon’s Top 10 Overall Digital Single’s Chart

Los Angeles CA– Fox’s immensely popular “So You Think You Can Dance” has plucked from obscurity an unsigned, unreleased artist and prominently featured her music for one of the show’s signature dances. Christina Perri’s “Jar of Hearts,” which was choreographed by Stacey Tookey, found itself front and center during last night’s SYTYCD. It was danced to by two of the show’s most popular performers, Billy Bell and Kathryn McCormick.
The track was rushed onto iTunes in light of the exposure and fans took instantly to the online retailer landing “Jar of Hearts” at #20 on the Overall Chart and #11 on the Pop Chart. She also saw the reaction on Amazon where the single was made available digitally and shot to Top 10 on the Overall Chart. On MySpace her player saw 2,800 plays in only 2 hours and her Facebook page was littered with comments within an hour of the East Coast feed. By the time the West Coast aired SYTYCD, “Jar of Hearts” had made its way onto iTunes home page and by the end of the night, Christina Perri was Google’s #1 trending search.
Perri moved to Los Angeles from Philadelphia with one suitcase and a guitar, hoping to follow in the footsteps of her older, musician brother (Nick Perri, of rock bands Shinedown/Silvertide). The year that followed includes many cliché Hollywood pitfalls, including a divorce by the time she’d turned 21. Says Perri, “I did everything wrong that you can do wrong.”
Now 23, Perri has rebounded in fine form and spirit, recording demos for her debut album. The songs caught the ear of managers at Bill Silva Entertainment, who also manage her favorite artist Jason Mraz.
Perri learned late last Friday about the song’s placement in SYTYCD, following a particularly grueling shift at a Café in Beverly Hills, one that had her daydreaming about dramatic ways to cease employment. “I was being yelled at all day. I got into my car and I wasn’t 100 feet from the café when I got the call. I screamed. Then I cried. Then I called my mom.”
“Jar of Hearts” is now available on iTunes.
